What is the mucus plug like?

for the past week or so ive noticed more discharge then usual but it isnt like normal discharge. there is no blood or odor but it is almost like a snotty consistancy (sorry tmi) but ive been seeing only little amounts in my underwear and its usually more then once a day i notice it. is this my mucus plug coming out? as i said its been going on for over a week i thought the plug came out all in one peice? thanks for the help :)
